SAP Basis Architect/ Consultant

Duration: 6 Months Contract | Possible Extension
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Architect to provide technical leadership and architecture expertise across enterprise SAP landscapes. This role will serve as a key technical resource responsible for SAP systems administration, architecture, performance, upgrades, integrations, capacity planning, and continuous improvement.
The position will support a broad SAP environment including SAP ECC, CRM, IS-U, BW, BOBJ/BODS, BPC, Portal, Solution Manager, ABAP, Java, and .NET-based platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical focal point for SAP Basis administration and architecture across multiple SAP landscapes.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement SAP system changes, upgrades, patches, support packages, and technical enhancements.
- Perform SAP system health checks, performance analysis, tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting .
- Provide technical leadership for SAP landscape design, architecture recommendations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design and implement SAP Portal landscape upgrades, patches, and technical enhancements .
- Support SAP ECC, CRM/IS-U, BW, Solution Manager, and other enterprise SAP platforms across development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Work closely with SAP Functional Leads and business stakeholders to coordinate technical requirements and enterprise-wide SAP enhancements.
- Lead or participate in SAP implementations, upgrade initiatives, database migrations, and other technical projects.
- Develop and maintain SAP technology standards, architecture templates, governance processes, and technical procedures .
- Define and maintain current-state and future-state SAP Basis architecture roadmaps aligned with business and technology strategies.
- Evaluate infrastructure requirements, scalability, costs, technical risks, and long-term impacts of SAP solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance for strategic SAP initiatives and ensure consistency with enterprise technology direction.
- Establish processes for SAP design, implementation, monitoring, optimization, and operational support .
- Collaborate across business units, IT teams, vendors, and technology partners to evaluate and implement appropriate solutions.
- Develop application roadmaps for SAP products, including Solution Manager and GRC .
- Perform SAP sizing and capacity analysis using SAP Quick Sizer and translate business requirements into infrastructure requirements.
- Evaluate SAP and non-SAP access, security, front-end, mobile, load balancing, SAP Web Dispatcher, SAP Gateway, and related infrastructure requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, MIS, or a related IT discipline .
- 12+ years of SAP Basis / SAP technical architecture experience .
- Strong experience defining and executing SAP Basis architecture roadmaps across current and future-state environments.
- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA administration and Business Suite on HANA .
- Proven experience designing and implementing integrated enterprise SAP environments.
- Experience leading SAP landscape implementations, upgrades, migrations, or major technical transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience with SAP NetWeaver administration , including installations, upgrades, support packages, patches, fixes, add-ons, workload analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of multi-system SAP landscape architecture and integration across heterogeneous technologies.
- Experience supporting SAP environments across Development, Test, Staging, and Production .
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical and infrastructure requirements across multiple platforms and operating systems.
- Strong cross-functional and cross-vendor collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, MIS, or related discipline.
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP Solution Manager
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration
- Experience integrating on-premises SAP ECC with SAP HANA Cloud solutions , such as SuccessFactors, Ariba, and Concur.
- Experience with SAP HANA Cloud Integration / middleware .
- Experience with clustered, on-premises, cloud, and hybrid SAP environments.
